Event Details

On Sunday 27 September, the historic fort will be transformed into an outdoor cinema for one afternoon only, screening Steven Spielberg’s much-loved 1993 blockbuster.

Created by the Harwich Society in partnership with the Electric Palace Archive Project, Fort Flicks brings together film, fun and local heritage. Visitors are invited to explore the Redoubt when doors open at 1pm and enjoy a range of activities inspired by Jurassic Park and the fort itself before dinosaurs take over the big screen.

1pm onwards – Entry to the Redoubt and access to family-friendly activities

2.30pm – Jurassic Park (PG) screening

5:30pm – Expected finish

When Jurassic Park was first released in 1993, it was originally shown at the Electric Palace Cinema. More than 30 years later, Fort Flicks brings the film back to the town, giving audiences the chance to experience this much-loved classic in a completely new setting.

Bring a picnic blanket or camping chair, dress for the weather, and join us for an unforgettable afternoon at one of Britain’s best-preserved Napoleonic forts.
