CAPTAIN BLOOD (1935)

Warner Bros took a gamble casting a couple of little-known actors in the lead roles of this swashbuckler based on a novel by Rafael Sabatini. However the gamble paid off handsomely as not only was the film a hit, but it made stars of Errol Flynn & Olivia de Havilland.

After being wrongly convicted of treason, Peter Blood, an English physician (Errol Flynn), is transported to the British colonies of the Caribbean where he is sold as a slave, and bought by the beautiful Arabella Bishop (Olivia de Havilland). After making a dramatic escape from the island he becomes a pirate.
